Italian Vachetta

  • Most commercial leather tanneries paint over low-quality leather to create a uniform look for mass production.
  • Italian Vachetta (va-ket-ta) is different. This is an exceptional vegetable-tanned, full-grain leather sourced from the Tuscany region of Italy.
  • Artisan tanners allow natural dyes to soak into the leather fibers like butter on warm toast, enhancing the character of each hide. This process results in a supple yet strong leather with unique depth that develops a rich patina.
